WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THIS MORNING

In obedience, the On Assignment By God Blog, now has an audio feature where you can listen to this blog!! Thank you for your prayers as I continue to be obedient and do what God says! Happy Listening!!

This morning I got up a little bit later than usual. You know by now, when it’s cold outside, the comforter seems like it just gets cozier, right?? Is your comforter like that? Sometimes I wonder if we just strip away the comfort, would that make us jump up and run to the real COMFORTER for an even more cozy experience? Things that make you say hmmmm.

Because I was running late this Wednesday morning, I had to call an audible (that’s a football or sport term) and pray in the prayer closet then shift into the prayer shower! As I was shifting, I heard the Holy Spirit say: A Purposeful People. I wrote it down and headed to the prayer shower. Yeah, I pray in the shower too. And listen, that shower prayer hit different as the young people say (I really don’t know if young people say that or old people just say young people say that to make themselves feel younger when saying it).

But anyways, I was praying in my heavenly language in that shower and I just felt like whatever that was on me that was dirty or unclean was being washed down the drain. I heard myself singing, clean me up God, clean me up. Because you know what, you can pray till your face falls off and still not be living a pure and holy life. You know that right? Matter of fact, prayer is the conversation you have with God to ASK HIM to forgive you for any unclean thought, deed, or action. And listen, you can be thinking that since you don’t do that ONE SIN no more, you’re all cleaned up now, but that’s why you should pray for known and unknown sins, because our thoughts can catch us up sometimes. You know those judgemental thoughts or what about that un-forgiveness you forgot about from last year. You know you never forgave that family member or that co-worker. You just handle them now thanks to God’s grace, but you never asked God to forgive you for those thoughts you had. Prayer time is the perfect time to repent for it all.

Today’s prayer time felt more like a shifting prayer closet. I was praying in the closet, the shower, in the bathroom, in my room, in my truck, and then at my home office desk. All that moving around had me a bit nervous because my journal sat empty. But this isn’t the first time that has happened, so I confidently grabbed my pen and asked the Lord to speak to me after I read chapter 3 in the book of Ecclesiastes in my Tony Evans Study Bible. All I am going to say is GET YOU ONE! LOL! I sat there and waited to hear from God. I honestly thought he was going to pick up with what He has said earlier about A Purposeful People.

I waited.

I waited some more.

I got nervous. Then I said, nope. Been here before. God always shows up and talks to me.

Then I felt this doubt try to creep in.

I rebuked it and said, Nope, God always talks to me.

I kept waiting.

My mind started to wander.

I centered it back on hearing God’s voice.

Doubt came back. This time with a reminder that I now do the blog in audio. How are you going to read nothing, the doubting thought said.

Right when I was about to let that one thought go further, I heard the Holy Spirit say:

  • Only I can FILL YOU UP.

  • There is nothing or no one who can fulfill you like Me.

  • Only pursue what I permission.

  • I AM building your trust muscles.

  • I know what’s best for you.

  • Every need you have will be met.

  • I have you positioned there for a purpose and you won’t always know why. Be okay with that.

  • You can always ask me why. Be okay with my answers.

  • Trust Me.

  • I know the plans…remember!

And just like that…the Holy Spirit gave me exactly what I needed at the very moment I needed it. Sometimes when He speaks, it doesn’t always make sense to me when I write it, but God will confirm His word through other witnesses. And I just love when He does that too!! It blows my mind every single time. Whether someone messages me to confirm that the message was for them or I hear the exact same words later today. God always confirms His word.

Today, I want you to know that God is always with us so we don’t have to doubt that He will show up. He is already here. So when the enemy tries to get you with doubt, shut him down with this… GOD IS WITH ME!
