Non-Stop Prayer & Repenting

Sometimes you need to go back to the beginning. Sometimes you need to do it how you used to do it. That was me this morning. I felt the unction to repent like I was repenting when I first surrendered my life entirely to God. I felt like there were some things that I needed to surrender…again! I felt like there were somethings that have tried to come back that I thought I had cast off. But that’s just the thing, the enemy wants you to think that you don’t have to pray about it anymore. Yes you have been delivered from it back then, but don’t think for one second that the enemy has come off the gas in that area of your life. And sometimes we can think that we don’t need to revisit repentance in that same area, but we do!

We have to repent daily because while we were delivered from one thing, it doesn’t mean that something else hasn’t come in it’s place. That’s where I was this morning. So I got on my face and I repented. I walked around my house in each room and prayed in the Spirit. I actually had not done that in a while. I just felt like I needed to get back to the beginning. I have grown so much since then, but there are some basics and foundational aspects of prayer that we must never forget.

Pray without ceasing. That’s what 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says. Therefore if prayer is our communication vehicle given to us by God to connect with Him, then we should be connecting with God non-stop!

In prayer we are to:

  • Go to God.

  • Recognize who HE IS through praise and worship.

  • Communicate what we need (don’t miss that this comes after recognizing Him through praise and worship).

  • Make specific requests in prayer. But when you make specific requests in prayer, make sure you are in alignment with God’s expectations. Deal with any unaddressed issues so that you can be in alignment. That means daily repentance.

  • Make your requests known to God, giving him permission to do above and beyond ALL that we ask and think (Ephesians 3:20).

  • Be specific with God, BUT then submit to His will because His will is ALWAYS better than our request.

Sometimes we need to be reminded, so that routine doesn’t ruin us.

Repent regularly. Pray Non-Stop.

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
