Calm, Comfort, Completion...and Faithful

Being consistently in the presence of God made me so grateful this morning! I said, “Lord, I am so thankful that my voice is familiar to you Father!”

I am also thankful that His voice is familiar to me! This morning the Holy Spirit said:

  • Calm in chaos

  • Comfort in grief

  • Completion in incompleteness

Father God we thank you for being our peace and our comforter. We also thank you that YOU complete us!

But I trust in you, Lord; I say “You are my God.” Psalm 31:14 CSB

Recently I keep having this reoccurring thought about God finding people faithful and righteous. My mind jumps to the story about Sodom and Gomorrah and how Abraham was pleading with God about the people there. God was about to wipe S &G out! But Abraham was like, what if there are 50 righteous people there. The Lord said in Genesis 18:26, if I find 50 righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.

Then Abraham was like, oooohh kay…what about 45 people? The Lord said, okay 45. Abraham said what if it’s only 40, the Lord said, okay, for the sake of forty, I won’t destroy it. Then Abraham said, Lord don’t be mad at me, but what if only 30 can be found righteous? The Lord was like, okay, I will not do it if I find 30 there. Abraham went even further and asked about 20, the Lord said, okay to 20. Then bold Abraham (because at this point many of us would have quit asking), said what if only 10 can be found there. The Lord said for the sake of 10, I won’t destroy it. Of course the Lord ended up destroying it. Why? Couldn’t find nobody. He spared Lot (Abraham’s nephew) and Lot’s two daughters.

But what I see in reading this story is how compassionate our Lord is. He WANTS to find us righteous. He is willing to save the whole place if he can just find a few righteous ones. He can save your whole family if He can find YOU being the righteous one!

Luke 18:8 ERV says: I tell you, God will help his people quickly. But when the Son of Man comes again, will he find people on earth who believe in him?”

I feel this so strong in my heart this morning… how will God find you? Will He find you familiar to His voice? Will He find you familiar to His Word? Will He find you seeking Him every day? Will He find you faithful? Will He find you giving? Will He find you praying consistently? Will He find you fasting? Will He find you in your purpose?

How will He find you?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
