Commitment and Clarity

Even when you’re in a different place, always make sure you STILL wake up and pray. While traveling to be with family the last few days, I have always come prepared to be On Assignment by God. Whether I am staying with a family member or in a hotel, I set my alarm to wake up and pray.

This morning after spending a great day with family, I woke up and prayed and discerned the voice of God saying: Commitment

I listened a bit longer and Holy Spirit said: Stay committed to Me an I’ll give you clarity.

I went looking up the word clarity on the Blue Letter Bible app and there was literally only one verse with that word in it. That’s Exodus 24:10 NKJV

and they saw the God of Israel. And there was under His feet as it were a paved work of sapphire stone, and it was like the very heavens in its clarity. — Exodus 24:10 NKJV

Just to give a bit of context, this chapter is talking about Israel accepting the Lord’s covenant and when the Lord had instructed Moses to come here. He was calling Moses up the mountain and told him to bring Aaron, Nadab, Abihu and 70 of Israel’s elders.

The verse that has the word “clarity” in it references when they saw the God of Israel and it looked at the paved work under his feet. One translation says it looked like the heavens in its clearness. Another translation said it was as clear as the sky.

I wrote down: Clarity means clear.

Then I discerned Holy Spirit saying: I’ll make it more clear as you seek Me.

I am grateful that Holy Spirit is making things clear for me, how about you? I recently used the phrase “clear as mud” when talking about a matter to someone. My point was that the person had come under the auspices of providing clarity, but that clarity was “clear as mud” after the conversation. It was not clear at all.

But this morning, the Lord said HE will make it clear to me as I seek Him! We must seek the Lord for clarity. Now don’t get me wrong, I know the Lord uses people, but today He was reminding me and telling me, I WILL GIVE YOU CLARITY.

As I was reading this 24th chapter of Exodus, another couple of verses that really stood out to me was verses 3 and 4:

Then Moses went down to the people and repeated all the instructions and regulations the Lord had given him. All the people answered with one voice, “We will do everything the Lord has commanded.”

Then Moses carefully wrote down all the Lord’s instructions. Early the next morning Moses got up and built an altar at the foot of the mountain. He also set up twelve pillars, one for each of the twelve tribes of Israel. —Exodus 24:3-4 NLT

Now what specifically got my attention was:

  1. Moses repeated all the instructions and regulations the Lord had given him.

  2. All the people were committed and unified to do everything the Lord commanded them to do.

  3. Moses carefully wrote down all the Lord’s instructions.

  4. Moses got up early the next morning and built an altar.

Because of Moses’s commitment to the Lord, he was clear on what to do.

Let us be encouraged to do the same…be committed to the Lord so that we can be clear on what He is calling us to do.

P.S. I just love my conversations with God…don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
