Committed to God’s Commands

Today’s episode is being recorded in closet in the Big D. That’s Dallas Texas! I’m here celebrating the birthday of my best friend since 7th grade. Her husband did an amazing job of surprising her with a visit from me! It has been such a wonderful time. So if I sound a bit different on today’s episode, now you know why. LOL

This morning my conversation with Holy Spirit was all about prioritizing obedience.

He said:

  • Obedience

  • Prioritize obedience

  • Share with others the importance so they too can prioritize obedience.

  • Hurry up and obey.

  • Stay committed to keeping My commandments.

  • Others are watching you.

  • I love your everyday yes.

That last one got me. It made me smile. I felt a joy in my heart. All I want to do is please God with my life.

I started thinking about why do I prioritize obedience to God. I wrote in my journal: All I have to do is think about WHO GOD IS and what HE HAS ALREADY DONE! When I think about Him, I WANT to stay committed to Him and His Word. No one compares to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

So I replied to the Lord: You are my priority God.

In Psalms 119:60, it says:

I hurried, not hesitating to keep your commands. — Psalms 119:60 CSB

As soon as you command, I do what you say. — Psalms 119:60 CEV

Both of these translations really speak to me. I remember in 2019, when I first started hearing from God through the 1 Hour Prayer Challenge, He said urgent obedience to me. I wrote it down on my vision board wall and I kept that as my priority as I went deeper in my relationship with the Lord. I knew procrastination had been a thief of my obedience! And I didn’t want that to be the case any longer.

I love the message translation of this verse too. Now of course with the message translation, it’s got more verses in it, but it gives you even more context around verse 60;

Because you have satisfied me, God, I promise
to do everything you say.
I beg you from the bottom of my heart: smile,
be gracious to me just as you promised.
When I took a long, careful look at your ways,
I got my feet back on the trail you blazed.
I was up at once, didn’t drag my feet,
was quick to follow your orders.
The wicked hemmed me in—there was no way out—
but not for a minute did I forget your plan for me.
I get up in the middle of the night to thank you;
your decisions are so right, so true—I can’t wait till morning!
I’m a friend and companion of all who fear you,
of those committed to living by your rules.
Your love, God, fills the earth!
Train me to live by your counsel. — Psalms 119:57-64 MSG

No matter where I travel or who I am with, they will know that My God is the priority. His commands are my priority. And I want to keep hearing Him say: I love your everyday yes.

Be encouraged today and everyday to give God your yes!

How happy are those whose way is blameless, who walk according to the Lord’s instructions! Happy are those who keep his decrees and seek Him with all their heart. — Psalms 119:1-2 CSB

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
