No Matter What!

No matter what, I will praise the Lord.

When things look out of whack, I know the God I serve STILL has my back.

When things looking all kinds of cray, I will still bow my knees and pray.

WHATEVER happens, I will STILL praise the Lord!

Are you there yet in your relationship with Jesus? I know it takes time to have this perspective, but one thing I have learned is the the quicker I can KNOW THIS, the quicker I can GROW THIS intimacy with God and live a life free of worry, strife, doubt, and despair.

When you know WHO GOD IS and WHAT HE HAS DONE, you can trust Him all the more! That’s why it is so important to get to know WHO GOD IS and daily recall WHAT HE HAS ALREADY DONE for you. There is no way you can know Him for real for real and still be worried or fearful. He is an awesome God and He has done so many AWESOME things in all of our lives. The old church folks used to say, if I had 10,000 tongues, I still couldn’t thank Him enough. I totally feel that!!! LOL! I don’t have 10,000 tongues, but I can shole have a conversation with Him in tongues!!! Okay!!!

This morning we are reading the last chapter of Habakkuk for our Scriptural Bible Study and once again, those study notes from my Tony Evans Bible really helped me understand this chapter. Now my favorite verses are the last three verses (Habakkuk 3:17-19) because they represent the fact that no matter what, I am going to praise the God who saves me. NO MATTER WHAT!!!

17 Fig trees may no longer bloom, or vineyards produce grapes; olive trees may be fruitless, and harvest time a failure; sheep pens may be empty, and cattle stalls vacant—
18 but I will still celebrate because the Lord God saves me.
19 The Lord gives me strength. He makes my feet as sure as those of a deer, and he helps me stand on the mountains.

Habakkuk 3:17-19 CEV

Here is what else I got from this chapter:

  • Habakkuk was in awe of God.

  • Habakkuk asked God to remember mercy, even as God justly pours out his wrath! This one right here though y’all. We know God is going to justly pour out his wrath, but here we learn that we must put God in remembrance of His word. Habakkuk interceded on behalf of others when He asked God to remember mercy and as godly people, that’s what we are to do as well. We are to intercede and ask God to remember mercy! Habakkuk said it like this in verse 2: “In your wrath remember mercy!” And Hab used an exclamation point too! But I went to the Youversion Bible app because I wanted to see how other translations said this same part in Habakkuk 3:2:

    • In your anger, remember your mercy (NLT).

    • In wrath, earnestly remember compassion and love (AMP).

    • And as you bring judgement, as you surely must, remember mercy (MSG).

    • In wrath, earnestly remember love, pity, and mercy (AMPC).

    • When you are angry, please have mercy on us (NIRV).

    • Please turn from your anger and be merciful; do for us what you did for our ancestors (CEV).

    • When you are angry with us, please still remember to be kind (EASY)!

    • Be merciful, even when you are angry (GNT).

  • God WILL save His people…in time.

  • In the midst of trouble, we must be patient, trust God’s promises and follow His Kingdom agenda for us.

When I saw the word agenda, I was reminded of how we like to go on vacation with no agenda (well some of us do). Some people can’t function without knowing all the details of what they will do when and how. LOL! I am not one of those people. I can go with the flow. And to tell you the truth, that’s helped me a lot when I remember that going with the flow of the Holy Spirit is always better. I tend not to be the rigid type who MUST have an agenda or stay on schedule. But I do recognize that staying on schedule has its place in the category of focus and discipline.

Here’s the thought that came down though when I saw the word “agenda.”

We should always be willing to forego or take a break from our agenda, but we should never forego or take a break from God’s Kingdom agenda!

Today, let us be encouraged to always be seeking God’s agenda for our everyday lives. Having a daily conversation with God to get on His agenda should always be the first thing we do. So that no matter WHAT HAPPENS, you’re flowing with the Holy Spirit because you’ve surrendered your agenda for His agenda. Anything that happens is now on Him; and He always takes care of His people NO MATTER WHAT!

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
