Re-Assignment

Welcome back!

Thank you so much for resting with me as I rested in the Lord for rejuvenation, a fresh anointing, and a deeper connection to the calling that the Lord has placed upon me.

Since I last posted on December 9th (which was over a month ago), I have had so much to shift in my life. Nope I didn’t get married on the break, but my spiritual intimacy did increase! I had to LEARN TO REST and that took longer than I thought it would. LOL! When I last talked to you, I knew the Lord had been telling me for a while that it was time to take a rest from producing. I had been sharing our conversations since March 2019 and had not taken but maybe a few days off (I think it was one week). I had made His assignment my job.

While I was resting, the Lord had to remove pride. Yup! I had become prideful about getting our conversations out to you. I know you’re probably wondering how, but I had “prided” myself on getting it done and if that meant rushing my morning time with the Lord, I would sometimes do that. (Eeek, I know!) I repented!

As I surrendered to resting in the Lord, He cleaned me up. I know for a fact, he rooted religion out. He rooted routine out. He rooted ruts out. He was cutting stuff at the root for real. But it was when I thought I would be coming back to the blog, podcast, and new YouTube channel within a few days, that He uprooted my rest regimen! Throughout this entire resting period, the Lord was showing me that I was still trying to hold on to my plans for OABG. But I thought I was being ON ASSIGNMENT BY GOD. Right?

What I realized is that…He can change the plans for the better, but if we aren’t surrendered to Him daily and if we don’t die to self, we will miss the shift. We will miss the pivot. He was pivoting me. He was promoting me. He was moving me. But I was thinking that I still needed to do the original assignment. I was wearing myself out! But I kept going until He literally said…that’s it. No more. Rest. And like I said, even in the what I called rest days and He called rest, I was still holding tight to the schedule and routine. He had to break that off of me by not allowing me to post anything for a whole month.

I was like, but Lord, what will the people think. He said, you are resting Fon. You are obeying Me Fon. That’s all that matters…nothing else.

As I finally surrendered to coming back when He said come back, I actually rested!

Last week, I asked Holy Spirit if there was a date and He gave me January 11th, but then He said: “When you wake up, be led.”

This morning I woke up and spent way more time with the Lord. I didn’t let deadlines to post interrupt my time with the Lord. And when I did finally grab my pen, here’s what He said to me:

  • Re-Assignment

  • The assignment is changing and you’re being led on what I want you to do.

  • Re-assigned

  • Promoted

  • You’ve been faithful on the daily, but as I sharpen you, you’re now being led to share specifically.

  • You’re still OABG, but I’ll lead you on what I want you to share and say.

  • Get out of your routine. Get out of your way. Get away from the familiar. Go to a place that I will show you.

  • The assignment will always be to follow Me.

Two scriptures came to me as I was writing. Genesis 12:1 and Matthew 4:19

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. — Genesis 12:1 NIV

Jesus said, “Come follow me. I will make you fishermen for men.” — Matthew 4:19 ICB

Jesus said to them, “Come with me, and I will teach you to catch people.” — Matthew 4:19 GNT

The Lord has re-assigned me. Yes, I will still be bringing you our conversations, but they will be when He says bring it. I believe the Lord used these last 3 years to equip me to hear His voice, write down our conversations, and share them all. Now the assignment has shifted for me. I’ve been promoted to share as He leads me specifically. There are messages that He wants me to share and He doesn’t want them to get caught up in the daily.

As a former journalist, the Lord brought to mind how there are daily beat reporters and then their are features writers, and then there are writers who only write major stories or when they are specifically called upon. These notable writers are called upon to deliver the message of the story because when they write, people read and people listen. I believe the Lord is saying…I have promoted you Fon. You have done well with the daily assignment. You’ve been properly equipped to hear My Voice and write what you hear. Now I want to entrust you with the bigger messages for this medium.

I don’t speak on my own. I say only what the Father who sent me has told me to say. — John 12:49 CEV

I just love my conversations with the Lord…don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
