Reassurance from God

Today, I woke up extra sleepy. When my alarm went off for 5 a.m. prayer, I really wanted to stay in the bed, but instead of thinking about how good the sleep would be, I thought about how good my God is. I started worshiping to the music and then praying in the Spirit. Sometimes you just got to start where you are.

When I made it to the prayer closet and it was time to choose what song I would continue listening to, I chose a Maverick City featuring Chandler Moore song. Lately, he has just been a blessing to my ears in the music department! This week has been the kind of week where I have felt the need for reassurance from God. And sure enough, He reminded me of the song, Man of Your Word. As I prayed and listened to the song, I also backed it up and prayed the scripture: Numbers 23:19

God isn’t a mere human. He can’t lie. He isn’t a human begin. He doesn’t change his mind. He speaks, and then he acts. He makes a promise, and then he keeps it. Numbers 23:19 NIRV

This verse reassured me in a mighty way this morning because right there in that prayer closet where I felt this week was a bit tough, He was letting me know that He will keep every word that He has told me in that prayer closet and out of that prayer closet.

And of course, right when you do things in crazy faith, your faith is tested it seems right away. But I stand on the Word of God and our God is a promise keeper!!!

As I read the 12th chapter of Nehemiah Scriptural Bible Study…okay let me be honest, I listened to it today. And I am so glad I did. All of those names read by someone other than me was a blessing in and of itself. LOL! But a few things that Dr. Evans pointed out in his study notes stood out to me:

  • We all stand on the shoulder of others who came before us. These very people enabled us to be where we are today.

  • The people were celebrating because they knew God was behind their success in erecting the structure. We should always have praise on our lips for what God has ALREADY done on our behalf.

  • If we want heaven to intervene in our earthly circumstances, God’s Kingdom agenda must become our focus.

  • As Christians we are set apart FOR God. (The word “FOR” really stood out).

  • Joy is a spiritual tranquility provided by God.

  • We are to serve, give, and invest in eternal things. (Now you know what to invest in).

  • Our thinking must be conformed to the divine perspective so that our actions follow.

  • Put God’s Kingdom FIRST!

No matter what happens in our day, in our week, in our month, or in our year, let us always be reassured that God is a promise keeper. Whatever He told you He would do, HE WILL DO! Let’s keep putting Him first in everything WE DO.

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
