Strength to Serve the Lord

Today when my alarm went off with praise and worship music playing, I knew it was time to get up and pray. Why? Because of the first song that came on.

Last night I was a guest on a show and the show didn’t start until 9 p.m., so I didn’t get in the bed until late. I knew that my body would attempt to respond tiredly upon waking up because today is Monday which is a full day of homeschool community for my household. It’s not one of those days where I can adjust the schedule to accommodate sleepiness.

So on the show, the host asked me my favorite song and I said: Great Is Thy Faithfulness. You may have heard me belting it out on a recent VLOG podcast episode. Do you know what the first song was to come out of my alarm speakers? Promises by Maverick City Music. Guess what they are saying in the song: Great is your faithfulness to me. From the rising sun to the setting same, I will praise your name. Great is your faithfulness to me.

Y’all!! The Lord knew exactly what to play to get my feet planted on the floor! I was amazed and in awe to even hear THAT SONG!

As I went to the prayer closet and prayed, I discerned the voice of the Lord saying:

When you serve Me, I will restore you for more. Come to Me when you are weak and feel tired. I AM the Strengthener. I will strengthen you.

When I looked up the word strength, it means make or become strong. It’s synonymous with these words: build up, nourish, renew, reinforce, support, back up, vitalism, pick up, underpin, and fortify. Just those last two words alone gave me a boost of strength!! Knowing that the Lord is underpinning me and fortifying me…oohhh weee! Yes God!

The scriptures that Holy Spirit led me to were:

So don’t worry, because I am with you. Don’t be afraid, because I am your God. I will make you strong and will help you. I will support you with my right hand that saves you. — Isaiah 41:10 ICB

But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. — 2 Thessalonians 3:3 CSB

And then after I started preparing this episode, I got an email from The Passion Translation blog with the subject, I will sustain you!!!!

Y’all I am strengthened and encouraged to stay On Assignment by God today!

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
