The Appointed Time

You ever prayed for something and haven’t seen it happen yet? I know you’re probably like…OMG YES! You ever been waiting a while and started wondering if it would actually happen at all? Again, you’re like, OMG YES! You ever heard Holy Spirit whisper in your ear that it’s yours, but you have yet to see it? I already know your answer…OMG YES!

That was me this Saturday morning. Many of you know I prayed for this specific house right? If you didn’t know, well I did. And my kid and I still have faith that IS IT OURS. But I went through all of the above. I prayed for it and it hasn’t happened yet. I have been waiting and wondering when will it happen. I heard God say it was our house many times, but I have yet to see what I heard.

I asked the Lord again to give me a sign. I was like Lord, show me something. Let me and the kids know that it is still ours. I mean we have started packing in faith and everything. We even keep going to the house to the see the progress of it.

Yesterday on the way to visit the house, I asked my kids if they still had faith. My son answered with a resounding yes, but my daughter (who is the oldest) said she had had some doubts creep in. One thing she said that really made me pause was the fact that we weren’t continuing to pack. We had started cleaning and packing and were excited, but she said we haven’t maintained that excitement. She was exactly right! We had been let down because someone else had gotten the house.

My daughter said she still had a little bit of faith, she just didn’t have it at the level that she had it before we found out that someone else had gotten the house.

Has that ever been you? If we are honest, that’s been all of us. We believe and have faith when it looks totally possible, but then when someone else gets it or it doesn’t happen how we thought, our faith dwindles a bit. But don’t we serve a God who can do the impossible?

Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible But with God everything is possible.” — Matthew 19:26

Now you might want to write that scripture down and put it in your car, at your job, in the kitchen, on your bathroom mirror; I mean everywhere. LOL! That’s a scripture you can stand firm on in faith!

So I asked Holy Spirit if the house is still ours. He replied: The house is yours. I AM working out every detail. Keep the faith…you and the kids. Don’t give up.

Now let me just say this. I noticed that Holy Spirit didn’t change what He told me numerous times. It’s actually almost verbatim.

I replied and said, well can you show me something…anything? And can you show me and the kids both?

I flipped open my Bible and landed right in Habakkuk 1 and 2. And of course verse 3 rang out loudly:

For the vision is yet for THE APPOINTED TIME; it testifies about the end and will not lie. Though it delays, wait for it, since it will CERTAINLY come and not be late. — Habakkuk 2:3 CSB

Now y’all I have read this verse so many times I can’t even count, but I never noticed this 3-letter word before: THE. I think I have always said the vision is for AN appointed time, not THE appointed time. As a word nerd, that makes a big difference doesn’t it. AN appointed time can be whenever and isn’t set, but THE appointed time is specific and set already!

What a revelation! Holy Spirit said: It’s not late Fon. It’s for THE APPOINTED TIME.

The next thing I read were the Hope Words on the page of my bible which said: Faith is the means to access all that God has stored up for you in His grace.

Dr. Tony Evans said in the study notes that God’s agenda may be mysterious, but everything He does will bring Him glory and is ultimately for the good of His people.

We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him. He appointed them to be saved in keeping with his purpose. — Romans 8:28 NIRV

I didn’t even see this until now, but notice the word APPOINTED in that scripture too!

When I googled the word appointed, it’s synonymous with these words: scheduled, arranged, prearranged; specified; decided; chosen; ordained; set, determined, assigned, established, settled, decreed, and I just want to say SET again!

Holy Spirit then said to me: There is a specific time already appointed to the vision, to the blessing. Don’t thrown off track because you don’t know the appointed time. Just say in faith knowing you certainly have THE APPOINTED TIME.

Hallelujah!

When I looked up other verses with appointed time in it, this one got me yall and I made it personal for me. You do it too okay.

You will arise and have pity on Zion (Fon); it is the time to favor her; the appointed time has come. — Psalm 102:13

OMG yall!! First of all, I keep seeing the word arise. I saw it on a car tag and it has been coming up over and over. When I saw it in Psalm 102 with the words appointed time, I got so excited! This is how Holy Spirit talks to me. He shows it to me several times in different ways because He knows that’s how I will recognize it. What does He do for you? Have you picked up on His speaking pattern? If not, start the conversation with Him now and keep the conversations going enough to pick up on the pattern.

P.S. I just love my Conversations With God! Don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
