The Believer’s Response
This morning I had our children and our nation on my mind like a weight. I prayed in the Spirit and cried. I prayed for the Believers to BELIEVE. I prayed for us to seek God’s face. It felt so weighty because we all see the division that continues to banter back and forth among even believers!!
Then I heard Holy Spirit say… IF MY PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME WOULD HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAY AND SEEK MY FACE, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN (and only then) I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVEN AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN, AND WILL HEAL THEIR LAND.
Holy Spirit had me to write down the 4 things:
1. Humble yourself
2. Pray
3. Seek God’s face
4. Turn from wicked ways
Holy Spirit said I don’t hear your prayers (or any believer’s prayers) when any of these four are missing. 😮💨😮💨😮💨
I went looking for more translations to understand the verse even more.
13 If I close up the heavens and their rain and send any of the disasters you described—drought, locusts, pestilence—to ravish the land and people;14 and My people (who are known by My name) humbly pray, follow My commandments, and abandon any actions or thoughts that might lead to further sinning, then I shall hear their prayers from My house in heaven, I shall forgive their sins, and I shall save their land from the disasters.
15 Now I will witness with My eyes and hear with My ears the prayers offered in this temple. — 2 Chronicles 7:13–15 The Voice
If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. — 2 Chronicles 7:14 AMPC
Let’s check out the Message Translation because a few things popped out at me that helped me to see how I can do exactly what the Lord is saying to do:
God appeared to Solomon that very night and said, “I accept your prayer; yes, I have chosen this place as a temple for sacrifice, a house of worship.
If I ever shut off the supply of rain from the skies or order the locusts to eat the crops or send a plague on my people, and my people, my God-defined people, respond by humbling themselves, praying, seeking my presence, and turning their backs on their wicked lives, I’ll be there ready for you: I’ll listen from heaven, forgive their sins, and restore their land to health.
From now on I’m alert day and night to the prayers offered at this place. Believe me, I’ve chosen and sanctified this Temple that you have built: My Name is stamped on it forever; my eyes are on it and my heart in it always. As for you, if you live in my presence as your father David lived, pure in heart and action, living the life I’ve set out for you, attentively obedient to my guidance and judgments, then I’ll back your kingly rule over Israel—make it a sure thing on a sure foundation. The same covenant guarantee I gave to David your father I’m giving to you, namely, ‘You can count on always having a descendant on Israel’s throne.’ — 2 Chronicles 7:13-15 MSG
This morning I challenge us as believers in Jesus Christ to look at the 4 requirements for God to heal our land and see what we are missing, so we can make some changes and do these four things daily. Are we praying daily? Are we seeking God and making time with Him non-negotiable? Have we abandoned our sinful ways? Are we coming to God humbly? What does humbly even mean? I looked it up.
Humbly- in a lowly position or condition. Synonyms are: submissively, apologetically, repentantly, simply, meekly, on-bended-knee. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽(this one)!
I want to see healing in our land so I am going to do all I can… ensuring I follow God’s plan! Amen! (#bars) 🥰

SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
