The -ing of God’s Grace

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. — 2 Corinthians 9:8 ESV

And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. — John 1:16 ESV

This morning in prayer, I was prompted to pray for Holy Spirit to increase me in grace. But before I could pray, I felt this overwhelming desire to thank Him for the grace that He has already given me! I said, Lord thank you for grace-ing me. Thank you for giving me ongoing grace; a continuation of grace for all that you have assigned me to do.

I know it wasn’t me that did any of this, but it was your grace that was more than sufficient, for me to make it through this season of homeschooling and all the other things I have had the honor of doing.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. — 2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV

As I prayed more, He said this to me:

  • I’m taking you to new levels. Everybody can’t go with you, especially not new devils (or old ones either). (When He said new levels, my mind immediately thought new devils and the Lord immediately addressed and dismissed that thought!)

  • I’m giving you more time to do the things that I have assigned. Use your time wisely. Also notice that some assignments you have had in the past didn’t take as long as you thought they would. They just needed you to move on them.

  • I’m working everything out MY WAY. All that is necessary from you is to obey MY VOICE.

  • This new level will require even more time with Me, but don’t fret, I’m grace-ing you for it! (Do y’all see how Holy Spirit used the same word!!)

  • I know I can count on you for the Kingdom. (“What a confidence booster,” I replied back to Him). He continued, I made you care about not letting people down.

I knew exactly what Holy Spirit meant! Anytime I had to be somewhere or do something where I was accountable to other people, I made sure I was on point! I worked harder when I knew it would impact others. Now for whatever reason I didn’t have that same urgency for myself but I thank God that I NOW see myself just as important as I see others.

Be encouraged today that God’s grace is sufficient. God’s grace is ongoing. God has graced you for this season in your life.

P.S. I just love my Conversations With God! Don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
