Used by God

Because you are available to be used, I can use you!

Those were the words I heard this morning as I spent time in prayer with the Holy Spirit during the 3:30 a.m. - 4:30 a.m. hour. Yes, I have still been rising very early to spend time with God. And I got to admit something, it has really taken me back to where He and I started with early morning conversations. If yall have been reading/listening to the blog/podcast, then you already know that I went through a season of not waking up as early. I don’t want to diminish that season at all because God was still speaking to me and I was still devoted to spending the first part of my morning (regardless of my wake up time) with Him.

As I sat and listened for Him to speak more, I flipped open my Bible and landed right on Proverbs 31! The second part of verse 30 already had my orange colored highlighter on it.

Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised. Proverbs 31:30 CSB

But a woman who fears the Lord will be praised, was the part of the verse that was already highlighted. That’s when the Holy Spirit spoke again. He said: I wanted YOU to read my word again about the Proverbs 31 woman as a reminder that YOU ARE a wise woman of noble character who loves God. You are who I say you are.

So let me give you a bit of context into why I believe Holy Spirit was having this conversation with me. Over the weekend, I watched a video of a man (whom I won’t even call his name to give him any more credit or followers), but in this video, he proceeded to tell this woman who was calling into his show why she wasn’t worth the wait. The woman was divorced and had two kids and was sharing that she was abstaining from sex until marriage. The woman sounded like me because that’s exactly what I am doing! This man completely bullied this woman for her choice and made her feel bad for making the choice. He even went as far as saying she was of low value because of her age, her number of kids, and the fact that she had already had sex.

Y’all this whole conversation lit me all the way up. A little bit about me: I don’t do the whole bullying thing and I can’t stand men who think they can do that to women. Before I got saved saved, I was the one that a man knew full well, he couldn’t even step to me with that kind of narcissistic behavior. I wasn’t having it. But here I was listening to this so-called show with tons of viewers (I mean the guy had tons of followers), and he was belittling this woman. I got FIRED UP! Now the old me would have gotten peeved (I think that’s the proper way to say the word), but y’all know what I am saying. But this time, it got me FIRED UP. So much so, that I had a conversation with the Holy Spirit about it. It was then that I realized my assignment: counter culture with Kingdom content!

When the Holy Spirit showed me Proverbs 31 this morning, He wanted me to see some things that would be beneficial to build women up because it’s so sad that men (and other women too), tear women down.

One of the things that Dr. Tony Evans said in his notes though really drove a point home for me. He said an excellent woman is one who knows how to grab heaven and apply it to earth, so life becomes better for everyone under her influence.

The scripture said a woman who fears the Lord will be praised.

And guess what? I fear the Lord!

Dr. Evans in a mere note refuted everything that the foolish man said. Dr. Evans said you can marry a pretty woman. You can marry a rich woman. But many a man has been disappointed when he discovered that the elegance he saw on the outside didn’t match what was on the inside. So marry a wise woman of noble character who loves God and don’t let her go.

A woman who takes God seriously is wise.

And guess what? I take God seriously.

I have a confessional that I declare over my life from Proverbs 31 and I also have this hanging up in my prayer closet which I pray over myself, my daughter, and other women and girls connected to me. I want to share it with you so that you can begin to decree it over yourself and the women and girls in your life. This is how we counter culture with Kingdom!

Let her walk in the security of Your assigned worth to her. Give her a strong work ethic and health to accomplish all her tasks. Give her a heart that desires to extend her hand to those in need. Protect her for the right husband, a man of respect and godly honor. And let her be a woman of joy and laughter whose Christ-centered character is what makes her most beautiful. (Proverbs 31).

When we praise the godly women in our lives, they blossom.

What’s ironic is that I watched another show by a godly man on yesterday which countered the foolish man’s show. I don’t mind mentioning the name of this godly man’s show. It’s called the Dear Future Wifey Podcast Show, and you can check it out on YouTube. The host held what he called a testimony service and so many woman called in and thanked him for his podcast ministry. He didn’t start the podcast as a ministry, but when you are available to be used by God, He will use you!

Are you available to be used by God?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
