What God Requires

Ever wonder what God requires of you? Do you ever think thoughts like: Am I doing enough? Am I pleasing God with my life?

If you want to know a secret, I had those thoughts this morning. My prayer routine was different today and I almost let the difference throw me off a bit. I realized that instead of seeing my prayer time as a routine, it should be simply be seen as my lifestyle.

A routine can be doing the same thing every day, but a lifestyle is the same thing in every area of your life. And I choose a lifestyle of seeking God in every area of of my life.

As I was reading my Bible this morning in Micah 6:8, I noticed that what God really wants and requires of me is for me to:

  1. Act justly (this means to be fair)

  2. To love faithfulness (to love being loyal)

  3. To walk humbly with Him (to be in relationship with God and obey Him)

Of course I needed to really understand what that means in order to see if I am actually doing it.

Dr. Evans broke it down in the study notes and gave me a clear picture. He said what God wants is my love and my obedience. Our God is a personal God and He expects a personal relationship. He also expects me to love my neighbors by doing them good and ministering to their needs.

But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously— take God seriously. — Micah 6:8 MSG

The Lord God has told us what is right and what he demands: “See that justice is done, let mercy be your first concern, and humbly obey your God.” — Micah 6:8 CEV

Now that we know what God wants from us, let’s be encouraged to do it faithfully.

P.S. I just love My Conversations With God! Don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
