I was talking to Holy Spirit this morning. It was pillow talk. Those conversations with Him are the coziest and the ones where I feel most relational. I love that too because I think He has always talked to me while I was in bed.

Admittedly there were times were I grieved Him from this same spot because I wasn’t honoring Him with my actions (if you know what I mean), but I am thankful that my life is fully surrendered to Him and I am no longer bound by sin. We can FREELY chat now.

He and I were talking about relationships. Yeah, that subject is exactly what we were pillow talking about. I said, Lord, I don’t want to make the same mistakes again. I want to do relationships righteously. I don’t want to find myself in situations from my past, unknowingly. Show me what to do next. Guide me on how to handle my relationships and friendships.

I was bit emotional as I thought about all the ways He protected me in the past and how I sometimes ignored the signs. I didn’t want to repeat that.

Holy Spirit said to me: This difference from now and your past is that you’re listening to me. This is not that. Back then, I was talking, but you weren’t listening. That was THEN. This is NOW.

Then vs Now

I laid there. I heard Him. But I came back with more questions. Then it felt like I didn’t hear Him reply. I listened and listened. I had my phone read to capture what else the Lord would say. But I didn’t hear anything. I needed to know what was next. I was feeling myself get a bit anxious about everything relational: kids, family, friends, etc.

Still nothing.

I had a choice. Bury myself deeper into the comforter or get up and be comforted by the Word of the Lord! I chose the latter. I got up. I opened my Bible right to Psalms 145 and these words comforted me and spoke volumes to me:

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and great in faithful love.—Psalms 145:8 CSB

The Lord is good to everyone; His compassion rests on all he has made. —Psalms 145:9 CSB

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom; your rule is for all generations. The Lord is faithful in all his words and gracious in all his actions. —Psalms 145:13 CSB

The Lord is near all who call out to him, all who call out to him with integrity. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry for help and saves them. — Psalms 145:18-19 CSB

P.S. I just love my Conversations With God! Don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
