Let’s Hang Out!

You ever just hung out with someone and it was just the best time ever? It was relaxing and peaceful and fun and stress free and just amazingly good! You laughed until you cried and cried until you laughed. You shared openly and vulnerably, and trust that person to hold it and not gossip. In this moment with them, you felt peace, joy, love, kindness, and patience. Like they were patient with you and you were patient with them. You listened. They listened. You talked. They talked. You didn’t want the moment to end and they didn’t either. That’s when they said…it doesn’t have to end. We can do this forever.

THAT WAS THE CONVERSATION ME AND HOLY SPIRIT HAD THIS MORNING!

Now the first thing He said to me was: don’t keep looking around or you will drown. Keep your eyes fixed on me. I thought about Peter walking on water and how he started to sink when He took His focus off of Jesus.

That’s how I have felt a few times recently. I feel like I am having some walk on water experiences but then I start to look around at my circumstances. Holy Spirit started the conversation off with this to help me focus in prayer. And I could tell the difference too.

Then He said, REST IN MY PRESENCE TO:

  • Remove anxiety

  • Remove stress

  • Bring clarity to indecisiveness

  • Bring peace to chaos and overwhelm

  • I just want to be with you.

  • Let’s just hang out and enjoy each other’s company.

  • Do regular time with me where you just lay and relax and let go.

  • The more time you spend with me, the more your desires will line up with my desires for you.

  • You won’t have to wonder if this is My Will, you will know…all from us just hanging out together.

  • Let’s hang out.

I thought again about being with people who you can’t get enough of because they give you so much joy and peace at the same time. When it’s time to leave them, you find yourself saying, “we should do this more often.” And they reply, “let’s do it!”

That was the conversation today. Holy Spirit wanted me to just hang with Him.

He said, “No more striving. Let’s just hang out. Now our minds immediately try to think of all the things we need to be doing, but the Lord is saying, “Nope, not right now. Let’s just hang out.

I realized something too y’all. Nothing will fall through the cracks when you’re with God. He said: Don’t worry about that stuff, I got it all under MY CONTROL. Let’s just hang out!

The word sabbath came to mind and then I thought about sabbatical. You know when people take a sabbatical, they take a break or a rest from the usual. One of the 10 commandments is to the keep the sabbath holy.

This morning the Holy One was saying take a sabbath-tical (did I make that word up) and let’s just hang out. I am sure sabbatical came from the word sabbath. I ain’t even going to look it up to confirm. It’s confirmed in my spirit! LOL!!

These were a few of the scriptures that I found which spoke to me this morning about this conversation.

Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! — 1 Chronicles 16:11 ESV

Turn all your anxiety over to God because he cares for you. — 1 Peter 5:7 GWT

But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray. — Luke 5:16 ESV

Let’s withdraw with the Holy One and just…hang out!

P.S. I just love my Conversations With God! Don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
