Use the Power Within
Do you believe the same power that God used to raise Jesus from the dead lives in you? Then why don’t you use it? Why don’t I use it? Let’s take a look at what my conversation with Holy Spirit revealed this morning. I think you will definitely get a revelation too!
Holy Spirit kicked off the conversation before I even got to the prayer closet. I was praying while headed there and I felt this pain in my neck. This pain has been there for a long time. I get it massaged away and it comes back. It was really achy this morning so I laid my hand on my neck and said a prayer.
That’s when I heard Holy Spirit say: Stop accepting things as is, and use the power you have within.
I ran to grab my journal so that I could write it down quickly before I forgot. Then He kept going after I had journal and pen in hand. Here’s what else Holy Spirit said:
Stop accepting thing as is when I have given you the authority and power of my name. Stop accepting sickness. You have the power to heal in my name. Stop accepting and living with anything I have given you the authority to cast out in my name. You have the power to remove doubt and fear in my name. There is power in my name…USE IT!
When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. — Luke 9:1-2 NIV
Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. — Matthew 10:1 NIV
As you go, announce that the kingdom of heaven will soon be here. Heal the sick, raise the dead to life, heal people who have leprosy, and force out demons. You received without paying, now give without being paid. — Matthew 10:7-8 CEV
Faith in the name of Jesus heals and brings miracles.
While I was looking for the scriptures above, I ran across a blog post that really impacted me and my thinking. Here’s what the minister who wrote the blog said:
God has already done His part and has placed power within us. It is our responsibility to release that power. The Lord never told us to pray for the sick in the sense that we are to ask Him to heal them. He told US TO HEAL THE SICK.
Whoa!
That totally blew my mind! And what do we usually do, we pray for people to be healed. Lord heal Big Momma. Lord heal lil Johnny. Lord heal Momma. Lord heal me.
Yall we out here praying instead of healing!!! I know! It’s a total shift in perspective right? We are to operate in the authority God has already given us! We aren’t taking our authority and commanding God’s power. Instead we are passively asking God to do what He told us to do! (WOOOOOOW!)
As I kept reading, my mind was steadily being blow. Check this out: The Lord has already healed everyone who will ever be healed. He did it 2000 years ago when He bore our stripes on His back!
But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins.
He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. — Isaiah 53:5 NLT
When we became born again believers, we received the deposit of His resurrection power inside of us!
I want you to know about the great and mighty power that God has for us followers. It is the same wonderful power he used when he raised Christ from death and let him sit at his right side in heaven. — Ephesians 1:19-20
Instead of us begging God, we need to stop accepting things like sickness and take the authority He has given us and become commanders! The Bible said we would do even greater works than Jesus!!!
I tell you for certain that if you have faith in me, you will do the same things that I am doing. You will do even greater things, now that I am going back to the Father. — John 14:12 CEV
I read and studied Hebrews 6 today and one of the things that stood out is about us maturing in the things of God. He didn’t just save us so we can go to heaven. He wants to use us here on earth. Our usefulness increases as we grow in spiritual maturity on our journeys from earth to glory.
Be encouraged today to USE YOUR AUTHORITY and stop accepting things as is when we have the power of Jesus within.

SALVATION PRAYER
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
