Refocus

You ever looked back at your conversations with Holy Spirit and noticed a theme? I recently got this new journal that prompts you to go back and look over the whole week to see what theme comes up. I haven’t quite done that yet, but I did feel in my spirit that yesterday’s conversation to be pre-occupied with God and today’s conversation entitled refocus are definitely tightly woven together.

Holy Spirit said to me this morning:

  • Be laser focused on Me.

  • Looking around will cause you to drown (in sorrow, in depression, in hopelessness, and in despair).

  • I AM your focus…Me alone.

  • Refocus

I so needed this conversation with Holy Spirit because I have definitely taken my eyes off of Him a few times over this week and let the situations and circumstances of life garner my attention.

As I was looking for something to wear today (I’m headed to a parent workshop to get more equipped for homeschooling my kids), I grabbed a t-shirt that confirmed exactly what I heard and requested while praying. See I had prayed for Holy Spirit to help me stop focusing on everything else and to keep my eyes on the Him, and He replied with what I shared above.

But back to the t-shirt (which I got as part of an amazing book package from my author friend Jazmine Phillips who wrote the 40-Day devotional, Vision Check) that was staring me right in the face with the scripture that fit today’s conversation. Check it!

If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves;
But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed. — Proverbs 29:18 MSG translation

I am encouraged today (and I hope you are too) to keep my eyes laser-focused on God. I am encouraged today (and I hope you are too) to not let my eyes wander, nor my mind wander or wonder. But as the scripture says, I will put on my holy lenses and keep my eyes fixed on God.

P.S. I just love my Conversations With God! Don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
