Repentance Leads to Restoration

This morning during prayer, I asked the Lord to show me.

Show me what you want me to see.

Show me what you want me to know.

Show me what you want me to do.

He answered me in the book of Joel.

God showed me that He is the only source of true blessing.

He wanted me to know that heartfelt prayer is crucial to genuine repentance. And to repent means to change my mind. It means to reverse direction.

God wanted to show me what to do to repent. Here’s what to do. When I have taken the wrong road, the only right response is to turn around and go the other way.

He showed me what He wanted me to know and that is His Spirit is available to ALL who receive Christ as their Savior.

He showed me that He wanted me to know:

  • God is holy.

  • God demands repentance.

  • God will judge.

But He wanted me to SEE that when repentance occurs, He can restore what my rebellion and disobedience destroyed. He can turn the cursing from that rebellion into kingdom blessings…when I repent.

He wanted me to know that repentance leads to restoration and recalibration into alignment with Him.

He said to me: I AM recalibrating your life. I am making right, what is wrong. I am restoring everything that was destroyed because of your disobedience!

I will repay you for the years that the swarming locust ate, the young locust, the destroying locust, and the devouring locust - my great army that I sent against you. Joel 2:25

He wanted me to see what He was saying in different ways, so he showed me in different translations:

  • I will repay.

  • I will compensate.

  • I will give you back what you lost.

  • I, the Lord your God will make up for the losses.

  • I will restore to you the years.

  • I will make up for the years.

  • I will restore or replace for you the years

  • And I have recompensed to you the years. (Recompense is a verb. It is an action. It means to pay, to compensate, to satisfy, reimburse, indemnify, make amends for loss or harm suffered!

Y’all just don’t even know. The last four years of my life have not been easy at all. I have cried many tears because of heart break. I have gone without. I have watched others move on in their lives with seeming happiness. I have looked at people do the things I wanted to do, but couldn’t do. And the Holy Spirit let me know that because of MY DAILY REPENTANCE, He is giving me back everything that I lost because of MY REBELLION! Who wouldn’t serve a God like that?

He said, “You can rest assured that I WILL RESTORE!”

When I looked up the phrase “rest assured” the definition said: TO BE CERTAIN THAT SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN!!! It means don’t worry. The word “REST” in that phrase means to remain or stay.

Hallelujah!!

Because I turned away from my sin…

Because I reversed direction in my life and stopped going the wrong way…

Because I prayed a heartfelt prayer and genuinely repented for all the wrong things that I have done…

GOD IS RESTORING MY LIFE.

GOD IS GIVING ME KINGDOM BLESSINGS.

Hallelujah!!!

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
