The Right Kind of Rest

Today’s conversation with the Lord was simple.

He said: Take the rest. You need it to build your strength up for the next assignment. But today’s assignment is to rest from the war, rest from responsibilities, and rest from the last assignment. Don’t rush past the rest. You will need it. Rest equips you for the next.

As I was listening to the Holy Spirit and writing down what He said, I realized how hard it is for me to actually rest. I am always doing something! When I am resting, I usually feel like I am missing an opportunity to do something, or made headway on something. But it dawned on me (in the dawn of the morning) that I am really need to be obedient to what Holy Spirit is telling me.

The enemy wants me to be worn out and tired so that he can catch me off guard and weary. But if I will just listen and obey God, then I will be fully equipped for whatever the next assignment is that God has for me.

When we pray for God to lead us and He says rest, don’t look at God sideways. He knows all. Trusting Him is key!

So today, I will rest up in whatever way God wants me to. I will rest the right kind of way…God’s way.

28“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
