The Timing of God

I heard several things from Holy Spirit this morning. What I heard before I opened my Bible was:

  • The 9th month is your birthing month.

  • I AM doing a new thing.

  • What seems late is right on time.

  • I allow you to see flaws so that you won’t put people on a pedestal.

Now to you (and to me too), this seemed like multiple conversations, but when I opened my Bible, Holy Spirit continued the conversation with me in 1 Timothy 6. These are the scriptures that spoke to me:

Teach and encourage these things. 3 If anyone teaches false doctrine and does not agree with the sound teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the teaching that promotes godliness, 4 he is conceited and understands nothing, but has an unhealthy interest in disputes and arguments over words. From these come envy, quarreling, slander, evil suspicions, 5 and constant disagreement among people whose minds are depraved and deprived of the truth, who imagine that godliness is a way to material gain. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out. 8 If we have food and clothing, we will be content with these. 9 But those who want to be rich fall into temptation, a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

11 But you, man of God, flee from these things, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of eternal life to which you were called and about which you have made a good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13 In the presence of God, who gives life to all, and of Christ Jesus, who gave a good confession before Pontius Pilate, I charge you 14 to keep this command without fault or failure until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 God will bring this about in his own time. He is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, 16 who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see, to him be honor and eternal power. Amen. — 1 Timothy 6: 2-16 CSB

As we birth what God has placed on the inside of us, we must be aware that it will come to pass at a time when God chooses, not our own time.

Holy Spirit also wanted me to read that first part of 1 Timothy so that I can know what SHOULD be taught and what should not be. I also learned from my study notes about contentment. Dr. Evans defined contentment as being at ease where you are and being thankful for what you have. It doesn’t mean complacency. It means learning to be satisfied until God gives you more.

To me, this is all about God’s timing. When we are content, we KNOW without a doubt that God is acting on our behalf. I was listening to a teaching recently about worry and the person said that worry is like being an atheist! I was like whaaaaaaat! I know good and well I ain’t no atheist! But it made sense to me. You worried like God ain’t gonna do it or can’t do it, which is essence means you don’t believe in God! Or WE (let me add me in this) don’t believe in God because we have cause worry to be our thing.

No more! We are not going to worry. We are going to pray and trust God. We are not going to fear because God didn’t give us a spirit of fear! 2 Timothy 1:7 says God will NEVER give us the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit, who gives us mighty power, love, and self-control.

God is doing a new thing in our lives and I am excited about it!!!

P.S. I just love my Conversations With God! Don’t you?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
