Are You Taking God Seriously?

Heavy on my heart this morning were children and adults with deficiencies. I was praying for them and the Holy Spirit revealed something to me that caused me to start asking for forgiveness.

I said, “Forgive me Lord for making fun of your children. Forgive me Lord for making fun of anyone or anything you made!”

The Holy Spirit replied: I am still cleaning you up Fon. When I bring things to your attention, pay attention to the tension and do what is right.

Holy Spirit continued: All of my children are deficient in some way or another, and your dependency should be on my sufficiency. My grace is sufficient in every place you are deficient. I created everyone!

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV

Y’all I started thinking about what the Holy Spirit said to me. We are all deficient in some way, shape, or form. And He did that so that we could know HIM as the one who sufficiently fills the holes of deficiencies. And in society we tend to ostracize or pick on those who deficiencies are seen! But God is reminding us that HE CREATED EVERYONE!

As I was thinking, the Holy Spirit said this to me and it blew my mind!!

Don’t let cultural colloquialism regarding deficiencies counter MY Creations!

We can’t be countering the Creator’s Creations with our mouth. If I used my spiritual imagination, I would say that the Holy Spirit was saying: Don’t put your mouth on what I created! Watch what you are saying about MY CREATIONS!

The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. Proverbs 18:21 NLT

I thought about how we say stuff like: You so stupid; you’re such a retard; you so dumb; just ignorant (ignant); fool; crazy as hell; you’re such an idiot; dumb (a double s).

The Lord brought back to my remembrance a video I saw on Instagram where this popular comedian was joking about how a person with a deficiency testifies at church. Y’all, I didn’t even laugh because I just knew the comedian had gone too far.

The Holy Spirit said to me this morning: Just because a person with a lot of influence says something or does something in jest, doesn’t make it right. They are just a person with a lot of influence who is wrong.

We really have to be careful what we watch. We also have to be careful as creatives that we are led by the Holy Spirit. When you are watching people on social media, simply ask yourself this question: Would the Holy Spirit that I know, have led them to do that?

Finally, y’all know I read Psalm 11 this morning and it goes right in line with my conversation with the Holy Spirit. In Psalm 11:4-5, 7, it says this:

4 The Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord is on his heavenly throne.
He observes everyone on earth;
his eyes examine them.
5 The Lord examines the righteous,
but the wicked, those who love violence,
he hates with a passion.
For the Lord is righteous,
    he loves justice;
    the upright will see his face.

Basically, the Lord is observing everyone on earth (me and you) and He see when you are laughing or making fun of His creations. And I can hear you now trying to defend it by saying, it was just a joke though. But ask yourself, is the Holy Spirit laughing though?

I also read Psalm 111 and verses 9 and 10 spoke so loudly to me as I prayed them! Yes I am learning more about praying the scriptures!

He provided redemption for his people;
    he ordained his covenant forever—
    holy and awesome is his name.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
    all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
    To him belongs eternal praise.

Psalm 111:9-10 NIV

I thank God that He provides redemption for his people; that He ordained His covenant with us forever; and His name is Holy and awesome! Hallelujah!!

In reading the study notes, I learned that all true worshippers should fear the Lord— that means take Him seriously.

Are you serious?

Do you take God seriously?

Taking God serious is the foundation of wisdom and to be wise means you have a clear understanding of HOW to obey God’s commands in specific situations.

Are you taking God seriously?

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
