The Lord Answers Those Who...

This morning I woke up in the 2 a.m. hour. A few months ago, I would have tried to go back to sleep because it wasn’t time to get up yet, but I started talking to the Lord and then I went and checked on my kids. They were snuggled in and sleep. I went to the bathroom and then came back out, about to get the bed, I decided to go take a closer look at my kids. Yup, they were snuggled in. Why am I telling you this, so that we both can continue to learn to go with the promptings and never to ignore the promptings.

I got back into the bed and felt like I was wide awake. So I knew that meant, I was to pray and talk to Holy Spirit. So I did. Now I didn’t exactly end the prayer because I ended up falling asleep, but I am glad that I have grown spiritually enough to know that I was awakened for a reason, and although I never knew the specificities of that reason, I did what I knew to do, PRAY.

When I awakened later this morning, I prayed some more. As I flipped open my Bible, headed for Psalm 12 because today is February 12th, I landed on another page and the Holy Spirit drew the HOPE WORDS to my attention which said: YOU WERE MADE TO REFLECT MY GLORY. SHINE!

Do you know that when I read Psalm 12 and then headed to Psalm 112, verse 4 said: LIGHT SHINES IN THE DARKNESS FOR THE UPRIGHT!

I smiled.

Why?

Because I just love when Holy Spirit does that! And He knows that I love it so He does it!

Let those HOPE WORDS marinate in your spirit this morning. YOU-WERE-MADE-TO-REFLECT-GOD’S-GLORY

SHINE!

I got to be honest, sometimes I just be wanting to stop right there in those kind of moments where I’m just basking IN HIS LIGHT! But in order for me to SHINE, I needed to spend a bit more time in His Word. This is what else He showed me in Psalms 12 and 112.

Well first He told me that His timing is perfect. Y’all I know the Lord keeps reminding me of this because anxiousness is often a Six Flags Roller Coaster Ride in my mind. Some days I am anxious. Some days I am not. I know He wants me to BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING per Philippians 4:6.

When He told me that as I was studying through Psalm 12, I saw this is verse 5:

“Because of the devastation of the needy and the groaning of the poor; I will now rise up,” says the Lord. I will provide safety for the one who longs for it.” Psalm 12:5 CSB

What stood out to me were these five words: BECAUSE OF _________, I WILL NOW.

Because of the devastation of the needy and the groaning of the poor, I will now RISE UP and provide safety for the one who longs for it.

The Lord said, because of _____, I will now rise up and provide ______ for the one who longs for it.

Y’all it was like I was creating a fill in the blank worksheet for my kids. Y’all know I am a homeschooling Momma so it didn’t even take me long to do it. LOL! But this gave me so much encouragement and confidence y’all. But what I don’t want you to miss or me to not shine a light on is the fact that the Lord says I WILL NOW! That goes right into what He said to me about His timing being perfect!

Yesterday we read in a previous Psalm that He sees everything going on in the earth. He sees the devastation. He sees the need that you have. He hears the groaning and tears. HE SEES YOU. And He said BECAUSE OF THIS, I WILL NOW RISE UP and PROVIDE, but don’t miss who He is rising up now to provide to! He said, THE ONE WHO LONGS FOR IT!

Yall know I had to go to the YouVersion Bible app so that I can see other translations of this right?

“But now I will come,” says the Lord, “because the needy are oppressed and the persecuted groan in pain. I will give them the security they long for.” Psalm 12:5 Good News Translation

Into the hovels of the poor, Into the dark streets where the homeless groan, God speaks: “I’ve had enough; I’m on my way to heal the ache in the heart of the wretched.” Psalm 12:5 MSG

The Lord replies, “I will arise and defend the oppressed, the poor, the needy. I will rescue them as they have longed for me to do.” Psalm 12:5 TLB

In the study notes, Dr. Tony Evans says this: Final deliverance and justice will take place in God’s eternal kingdom; nevertheless, there are moments in history when He brings his sovereignty to bear, and rights wrongs committed on earth.

Hallelujah!! That’s encouragement straight from the WORD OF GOD!

GOD WILL!

And finally in Psalms 112, there were two points I want to share:

  1. Fearing God is about how you live, not merely what you say. (And remember we talked yesterday about fearing God means taking Him seriously and being obedient).

  2. The righteous will prosper and the wicked will perish (This one is plain and simple).

We don’t have to be anxious!

God sees all and knows all!

God WILL at His perfect timing rise up to give, heal, and rescue (look back at those translations of Psalm 12:5) and we will see it happen here on earth!

And remember, even in the wait, you were made to reflect God’s glory, so SHINE!

Hallelujah!

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
