Faithfully Focused & Protected!

The Holy Spirit always gives me a heads up. Yup! I just realized that this morning. Well actually last night. Every time I get some news or find out some information about something that I have prayed about, I look back over my journal and see that God gave me a heads up about it. That’s why I encourage yall to have conversations with Holy Spirit and WRITE DOWN what you hear Him saying to you. Sometimes it won’t make sense in that moment or sometimes it will make sense. But have a document to reference from our conversations can be so helpful as we follow God’s plans for our lives.

Last night I went to bed with several thoughts on my mind and then I woke up with the same thoughts and the Holy Spirit reminded me of what He had already told me. But I got to be straight with you, even though I remembered what He said, it didn’t give me the comfort or peace that I needed. So I prayed for that. Then He reminded me as I was praying that He told me yesterday morning to “be okay with not comprehending.”

See when you put what you thought was gonna happen on a loop in your head, it can make you loopy and have affects on your faith. This morning we are wrapping up the book of Ephesians for our Scriptural Bible Study and I often try to tackle every part of the scripture here on the blog. But today, my focus is on the part about faith. Yes, we are to honor our father and mother; train our children up in the instruction of the Lord; work and serve as to the Lord, and not people; and put on the whole armor of God because we are not fighting actual flesh people, we are fighting the evil spiritual forces of darkness. That’s chapter 6 in a nutshell! But it’s verse 16 that I just want to focus on today.

In every situation take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Ephesians 6:16 CSB

Remember faith is acting like God is telling the truth and being obedient to God’s view on the matter! This is where I am today, because when I get to running the loop of what I thought would happen or how I thought it would happen in my head, that’s allowing the devil to throw flaming arrows at me, to try to keep me from trusting and believing what God already said!

But Dr. Tony Evans said in his study notes that we can overcome the devil by believing God’s Word and acting on it. Acting in faith is like activating a divine fire extinguisher!

Today, I stand firm on my faith and I believe God’s Word. My actions today and everyday will reflect just that! Just like these masks we are mandated to wear these days, be sure to always have your shield of faith with you too! The darts of the devil will come, but they won’t penetrate per Isaiah 54:17!

Get your faith shields up!! I got mine!

P.S. I love Ephesians 6:18 from the Good News Translation. It says: Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason keep alert and never give up; pray always for all God's people.

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
