Moving At the Command of God

I can tell that God is shifting me. I feel like I am in the middle of the shift though. I am not where I was, but I am not all the way where He is taking me. And I realize that I have to trust in all the more in the middle.

I was sharing with a friend that I felt like my prayer time was shifting too. I was telling her how that would impact the blog and podcast, but she reminded me that it’s more important to move with God than to stick to the routine. I agree. God is looking for us to be willing vessels. He is looking for us to be flexible to His movement. There are so many instances in the Bible where God had people in a place for a while, then He moved them. My first thought is how the children of Israel were led by the pillar of cloud.

In Exodus 13:21-22, by day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.

Then I am reminded of Elijah when God told him in 1 Kings 17 to head east and hide out at the Kerith Ravine on the other side of the Jordan River. He told him he can drink fresh water from the brook and that ravens would feed him. Elijah obeyed God. But in verse 7 of that same chapter, eventually the brook dried up and God told him to get up and go to Zerephath. Elijah obey God.

The point is, we must be ready to move when God says move. The Israelites didn’t question the pillar of cloud, they moved when it moved. Elijah didn’t question God, he moved when God said move.

Be encouraged today to move when God says MOVE!

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
