Your First Words...Belong to God

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Matthew 6:33 CSB

This morning when I opened my eyes and I felt metaphorically glued to my mattress with Dollar Tree glue (that means I wasn’t really stuck), not wanting to get up, I started the conversation with God right there. I started to honor God right there, and I honestly felt like I was being a slacker. But the Holy Spirit reminded me that He is not looking for my perfection, but He is looking for me every morning.

I thought about Matthew 6:33.

I read and meditated on Matthew 6:33.

It feels so counter-productive to have this resting posture at the beginning of the year, especially when everybody seems so eager and so READY to run their plans. And I could sense that the enemy wanted to use the evil spirits of comparison and even perfection to distract me. But living a purposeful life for our Lord and Savior is simply Matthew 6:33. As long as I SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, He will give me my assignment in that. I don’t have to over think what I am supposed to be doing today. I don’t have to worry if I am doing enough today. I don’t have to feel bad if I rest today because if that’s what He assigns me to do, He knows better than me that’s exactly what I need.

I prioritize God’s Kingdom daily and it may not look the exact same in how that transpires, but before I do anything else every single day, I talk to God first.

Be encouraged today that God knows what’s best for you even without you telling Him. But always revere Him first for WHO HE IS, and talk to Him first before you do anything else. You may be surprised that He may say today is a day of rest for you and while the rest of the world pushes varying agendas, you are indeed still ON ASSIGNMENT BY GOD with whatever assignment HE HAS GIVEN YOU!

WORSHIP: This worship song, Need My Time With You by Michael Bethany, is what ministered to ME as I worshipped God right where I was.

SALVATION PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and you’re not a believer, but you have a desire to be, all you have to do is openly confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you pray that prayer, you are saved. Get connected with a good, bible-based church in your community, stay connected to other believers, and start having daily conversations through prayer with God every single day. Welcome to your new life with Jesus Christ!!!
